Thanks for the replies! Do you guys think it would be better to drill a
hole in the deck and run the wire through the deck? Of course I would
seal with the correct attachments and sealants.

It just might be better to lower the mast to solve this problem, unless
a short stub of the wiring is still sticking out of the mast.
It sounds like your mast wiring might be coming out of the mast through
the base. Not a good thing, if that is the case. Very unworkable.
