I've seen this on other lists, and don't care for the result.  I end 
up with too many messages that look like

Subject: [LISTNAME] Re: [LISTNAME] Re: [LISTNAME] Re: [LISTNAME] Re: real subject line

That said, it looks like the list software can accomodate the request,
if that's what people want.  

Note that all messages already include the header
Sender: owner-sanjuan23@PEAK.ORG

which is what I use for filtering in my own email box.
