Hi Mick;

My rudder broke the same way during a race, next week I borrowed a friends ruder & broke it in another race I had to build two rudders, I used one piece of mahogany had it milled to one inch & shaped it. It wont brake again & it looks good. You should be able to get the wood for under $50.
