The choice of a tow vehicle depends so much on how far you haul, hills 
to climb/decend, volume of traffic and last but not least, road 
surface.  I know several people who have towed with a Dodge 3/4 ton 
truck e/w the Cimins diesel. Can't even feel the boat behind you.  If 
you want real stability, go for lots of power on a long wheel base.  
Make sure that the height of the hitch is such that the trailer rides 
level. This is crucial for a tandem axle trailer. For more info check
