A good rule of thumb, it's better to max out your tow truck the few times you tow then to ride around town in an over killed truck that coast you a lot of money to ride all year. I use a 02 Grand Cherokee and tow about two three thousand miles a year @ 8 to 9 MPG the rest of the year it gets 15 to 18 MPG.
