SJ23 dacron lift line

Good Day All:

This query is directed to all of you sailors who have switched their centerboard lift cable to Dacron line.  I'm trying to determine how long Dacron, polyester or other type of line has been in use, how long it might last and how suitable it is as an alternative.

QUESTION - How long you have been using line (not cable) and what, if any, your routine maintenance procedure is to monitor it is?
