Most SJ23s that had sinks, had through hulls. Many had gate valves instead
of ball valves. If anyone still has gate valves, they should change them to
ball valves. Gate, or globe valves can fail at the least opportune time,
causing a leak. I found a hose that the wire had rusted and rotted the hose.
It split at the hose barb, and caused a leak when healed. I would suggest
you give your hoses a sever wiggle when checking your valves.
