Seems to me this would make single handling a bit awkward, wouldn’t it? And wouldn’t I have to go to mid-boom sheeting as well?
What did you use for spacers and how far apart did you put them because I think that is what I am going to do if I have to replace the track since I would have to raise it if I went with the Harken style instead of the existing I-beam type.

Before you replace your traveler in the existing spot, you might want to think about a traveler bridge over the companionway as was done on the later boats. this moves the traveler away from the companionway , so there is no interference with the cabin access. Your traveler may be repairable. E mail me at pgardnersj@xxxxxxx, and tell me what is wrong. I may be able to fix it.
